Some activists gathered at Dharmaveer Sambhaji Maidan in the old city. They wore black dresses and black caps and shouted slogans against the Karnataka government for what they called the compulsory introduction of Kannada in Marathi-speaking areas.
They undertook a cycle race and padayatra from Maidan to Maratha Mangal Karyalaya, passing through Bhatakande Nagar, Fort Road, Patil Galli, Madhav Road, Hemu Kalyani Chowk and Shani Mandir Circle. Leaders like Manohar Kinekar, Maloji Ashtekar, Deepak Dalvi and others were present.

Kolhapur MP Dairasheel Mane and Shiv Sena leader Vijay Devaney were stopped at Kuganoli check post in Nippani taluk. Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan issued orders barring them from entering Belagavi district.
The officers informed them of the restraining orders against them and that they were carrying them out. They warned against trying to enter the district by other routes. However, the officials initially disagreed. They argued with the police for some time before returning to their respective cities in their vehicles.
Meanwhile, a police inspector got into a controversy by taking a selfie photo with the MES leader during the parade. JM Kalimirchi, circle inspector of police, allegedly took a selfie with MES youth wing chief Shubham Shelk, who is facing criminal charges. Police sources claimed that the officer was asked by senior officers to track down, find and photograph himself with Shubham Shelk, who was on the run after facing criminal charges. Boras Police Commissioner Bhushan Gulabrao said the matter would be investigated.
