
The district administration Annamayya warned traders of buying Papáya for a smaller rate and asked them to buy the fruit 9 ₹ per kilometers from farmers according to the government’s instructions. Diktat comes despite the obvious ignorance of government directives of traders that lead to farmers’ protests.
Farmers in the Papaya district in the district protest against the lack of rewarding prices for their return since the end of July. 1 August with the collector of the district of Annammayya Sridhar Chamakuri organized a meeting with traders and convinced them that Papaya would buy at least 10 ₹ per kilometers from farmers from 6 August (Wednesday).
However, traders and agents of the commission reportedly did not buy a papaya for the price agreed before the collector.
“It came to the fact that the Commission traders and the commissions bought papaya for less than 8 GBP per kilometers, which is not a reward for farmers. Farmers are led to losses as a result of traders,” said Sub-customer Rajamplet Mrs. Bhavana.
On Thursday (August 7, 2025), she organized a meeting with merchants in the presence of Rajamplet Asp Manoj Ramnath Hegde and the gardening of Subhasini and others.
The sub-customer ordered the traders to buy a papaya for at least 9 ₹ per kilometers and warned against the action unless the farmers were paid the price.
She asked police and income officials to consider teams with VRO, horticulture, transport officials at check points for verification.
