MP for Yaduveer Krishhnadatt Chamaraja Wadiyar visited Monday’s Mysuro Station and chaired an inspection meeting with Southwest Railway officials, Mysuru Division to assess the progress of various railway infrastructure projects and development initiatives in the region.
During the meeting, Mittal, division railway manager, Mysuru, together with Shammas Hameed, other divisional railway manager and other higher division officials were present.
During the interaction, Mr. Yadveer was informed about the key infrastructure and development related to services throughout the division. The main point of the discussion was the final survey of the location for doubling the Mysuru – Chamarajanagar railway line, which covered a section of 60 km. Field survey for this project has been completed and a detailed report of the project (DPR) is currently under preparation. The DPR is aimed at filing the Railway Council until August 2025.
Another important review project was to double the ARSIKERER – Massur railway line through Hassan, covering 165.8 km. The Railway Council approved the final survey of the location for this section 14. Upon completion, this project is expected to improve the capacity of the train handling and improve operational efficiency along this important corridor, the division press release said.
The meeting also focused on the development of the new Naganahali terminal, which is expected to facilitate overload at Mysuru Station. The proposed infrastructure includes an extension of existing platforms (580 meters long and 10.5 meters wide), a cross -country line for passengers and a stop line (each with a net length of 760 meters), shifting neck (750 meters), dry lines, machine tiles (350 meters) and platform cover 1,176 meters. According to Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda, a divisional business manager, the extension of four smaller bridges and one road under the bridge (RUB) was planned, according to Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda.
A total of 8 hectares and 29 gunta soil were identified to obtain the Naganahali project. Mr. Yaduveer was asked to expand support to accelerate the process of land acquisition.
Naganahalli Terminal Project, sanctioned during the financial year of 2022–23, also includes five platforms, five cross -country lines, four stabilition lines, a moving neck, a new station building, leg, metro, pit, employee reconstruction, service buildings and improved staff equipment.
Two personal problems were also discussed during the meeting. The first was to propose to move the India Post Passenger Reserve System (IPPRS) from Virajpet to Madikeri, which aims to serve a larger population more efficiently. The second was an application for accommodation without rent for the breast counter in Kuvedunagar, Mysurus to ensure sustainability and reduce rental expenses.
Mr. Yadveer appreciated the efforts of the Railway Division division and offered proposals for further strengthening the railway connectivity and improving the equipment of passengers in the region.
