Minister for Cultural Affairs Saji Cherian on Tuesday opened the Center for Cultural Studs after the well -known code exponent Mani Madhava Chayar in his birth in Panchayat Aricclamist in the Kozhikode district.
Mr. Cherian said that Chayar, the recipient of Padma Shri, contributed extremely to the cultural heritage of Kerala. The government was an obligation to respect memories of such great artists, the minister said.
The center was built in Karajad near Thiruvangayur Shiva in Aricclam Grama Panchayat. It was built on 10 cents of land donated by Chayar’s family. TP Ramakrishnan, Mla, sanction 75 lakh for construction work from his funds for the development of local areas. Panthalayini block Panchayat assigned Rs. 3 Lakh for furniture there.
