For years, they have been trolls, reduced material to the meme and ridiculed themselves for their chronic shortage – the royal challenge of Bengalur Bowlers lived for most of their existence by the IPL under a cloud of deep criticism.
For a better part of the decade, the RCB has been heavily leaning on their stars-stars, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle-time at the cost of assembling a well-rounded bowling unit. And when he mounted the pressure in big matches, they often lagged. Between 2012 and 2019, Play -OFF reached only twice – in 2015, with the permission of Mitchell Starc’s Brilliance, and in 2016, when Virat Kohli’s madness was attracted to the finals.
But what their sets of stars toss haven’t achieved in three previous finals, their pitchs withdrew the famous Tuesday Night-Nac, which will go down as most important in franchise history.
And Virat Kohli did not stand words – this title, he said, he was one of the pitchers.
“Bowling as we returned in games – I don’t think we’ve ever done it in RCB history. They were widespread through a group.
As soon as their Achilles heel, Bowling RCB has now become their crown jewel. But how did this transformation happen?
Auction that changed the tide

After three final heart fractures, the RCB management decided to make decisive realization: the sets of launching problems themselves would never break their title Jinx. The shift in the team construction began in 2020 and since then RCB ended up in the first four all the time except one season-2023-, when they just missed only two points. Even more importantly, the team began to communicate more balanced units. Since 2020, each season has seen that at least three of their pitching takes 10 or more goals – clear signs of strategic transformation. This transformation was fastened during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Gone was the old glamor chasing RCB. Calculated Think tank-head cricket MO Bobabat, head coach Andy Flower and trainer mentor-cum-robting Dinesh Karthik-S laser focus on specialists for specific phases.
In a behind -the -scenes video released by a franchise, Karthik boldly called Bhuvneshwar Kumar “Indian Best T20 Pacer after Jasprit Bumrah.” The support staff developed a targeted list: ARSHEEP SINGH, BHUVNESHWAR, Rasikh Salam and Josh Hazlewood for a new ball. RCB signed three out of four. They added Nuwan Thushara and Lungi Ngidi as backups.

The Spin department saw Krunal Pandy and Suyash Sharma together with the return swap Singh. Romario Shepherd came as a versatile seams. It was not a recruitment based on a reputation – it was rooted in roles.
Real game converters

Hazlewood does not generate Pat Cummins or Starc. Bhuvneshwar is too often written as around its main. Krunal would not create most of the top lists for spinners of the left shoulder. Suyash Sharma doesn’t even break the top 20. And Yash Dayal? The name that most fans forget when you show Indian left shoulder speeds.
But they had something more rare – an experience with victory. Among them, five raised titles with five different franchises.
Bhuvneshwar in the final 2016 suffocated RCB. Krunal was the player of the match in the Summit 2017 match. Hazlewood played in the triumph of CSK 2021. Yash Dayal made his brand in 2022, especially with two ice cold death against Mrs. Dhoni. Suyash has grown quietly to a reliable impact replacement.
Together they created the spine of what would become the greatest power of the RCB-Bowling unit that won the title.
This investment carried fruit spectacularly 29 May.
RCB won its first Ipl-in its fourth final and first since 2016-dresses with the disciplined bowling performance that has been going on during the season. Hazlewood ended with 22 goals, Krunal and Bhuvneshwar grabbed 17 pieces per piece, Yash Dayal threw himself with 13 and Suyash anchored the middle crossing.
RCB admitted the smallest runs in PowerPlay and raised the most goals at this stage after the tournament. It was no longer a party that rolled under pressure or escaped. They evolved into a bowling unit that could intervene – and strangled – at any stage.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar can be underestimated, but his IPL heritage is huge. With 193 goals, no PACE BOWLER has more in the history of the tournament. Overall, only Yuzvendra Chahal stands over it. In a game that is constantly changing – it remained relevant – simply by staying one step ahead in front of the batter.
A quick bowling firepower

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Bowling Wealth has been a full depiction of the whole season. Trio Bhuvneshwar, Hazlewood and Yash Dayal joined for more than 50 goals – the type of RCB potency missed in previous campaigns.
At death, RCBs were the second most economical aspect this season and admitted 10.23 runs for more than-Vous for 10.22 in Mumbai Indians.
Hazlewood’s return from the shoulder injury was timed to perfection. In his Comeback match, Josha Inglis and Shreyas Iyer refused in PowerPlay and set the tone. His coronation moment, however, came against Rajasthan Royals, defending 17 out of 12 balls – after Dhruv Judel Zatloukal Bhuvneshwar for 21 years – admitted only one run and took two goals. The Over is just not won the match – it could get them a title.
Underestimated axis of rotation
Suyash Sharma was at the top of his game for RCB in IPL 2025.
At the beginning of the season, Suyash Sharma was posting with hernia surgery, sharper – and definitely. His eight goals did not say the whole story.
In the 18th place against CSK admitted only six runs, while defending 34 out of 18. In qualifying 1 took 3 for 17, using his wrong’uns dismant PBKS lower order. Together with Krunal Pandya created an effective, if underestimated, spin duo.
Krunal never took more than 12 goals in the IPL season. This year he ended up with 17 – including 11 in the game.
His gentle shifts at pace, trajectory and surprising ejectors outfox several doughs-including Mitchell Santner in the game that had to win against Mumbai. He sealed this match with the final of the triple goal, while defending 18. He also threw himself with a bat and recorded a decisive fifty-first first since 2016-Delhi Capitals.
Last test
The final at the wrapped Narendra Modi stadium tested RCB again. After publishing 190 to nine, it seemed to me that it was a few short runs.
But again, the pitchers stood high.
The first morning came soon – Shreyas Iyer, architect Pandjab’s revival in qualifying 2, stood for the delivery of the tame Romario Shepherd. Out for one. With him he went a big piece of hope PBKS.
Then came the magic that broke the persecution.
Pandy, brought in the seventh, bowed with surgical accuracy – he admitted only 17 in his four crosses and raised Josh Inglis and Prabhsimran Singh. It was clinical, composed and exactly the type of medium overs RCB pressure in the past was often missing.
Crown jewel
Virat Kohli and Phil Salt played an important role for RCB in IPL 2025.
Yes, Kohli scored over 600 runs. Yes, there were great moments from the dough.
The real difference – the one who changed the heart of the heart in history – was bowling. Compact. Consistent. Clutch.
The Achilles heel itself, which chased the RCB for 17 seasons, became their koruna gem.
From permanent underestimators to champions, RCB finally completed its arch. Three finals. Eighteen years of waiting. Finally, the summit has shrunk.
Rajat Patidar in his debut season as a captain did what Kohl, David and Kumble could not – bring the trophy home.
And for Virat Kohli, a man who became the face of franchises through all the high and heart turns, finally came a moment.
EE Sala Cup Namde – finally. Undoubtedly. Deservedly.
