Syndicate members of Bharatiya Janata (BJP), who are members of Keral and Calicut universities, criticized the alleged state government’s efforts to intervene in the Administration of the Technology University of APJ Abdul Kalam and described it as unconstitutional overlap and politically motivated.
In a joint statement, members of the AK Anuraj (Calicut University), Vinod Kumar TG Nair and PS Gapuj (University Keral University) claimed that the university education department had initiated KTU investigations without informing the vice -chairman. This called the obvious violation of the protocol and the calculated attempt to destabilize the higher education system in Kerala. This step, added, was part of a wider strategy by a decision that was a democratic leading government to gain control of the university administration.
Against Bills
They also raised concerns about the university laws (amendments), which were recently approved by the State Assembly and claimed that attempts to transform the university into political battlefields. Accounts, if they were enacted, would undermine the autonomy of universities, warned.
Syndic and Senate members of universities of aligned BJP will organize protest against the proposed legislation on Friday before the Secretariat.
