Just hours after US First Lady Melania Trump denied any ties to Jeffrey Epstein, an email she sent to Ghislaine Maxwell has resurfaced. The email, which was sent in 2002 with the identities of both sender and recipient hidden, was released by the Justice Department when it released the Epstein files.
Mail was addressed to “Dear G” and from “Love, Melania”. The content of the letter showed that the sender asked the recipient about their frequent travels and time spent in Palm Beach, expressing a desire to visit. The sender also requested a call after the recipient’s return to New York.
The letter read: “I know you are very busy flying around the world. How was Palm Beach? I can’t wait to drive down. Call me when you are back in NY.”
In response to the e-mail, the recipient (G) informed the sender (Melania) that he was unable to call due to being busy. It read: “Sweet pea – thanks for your message. Plans have actually changed again and I’m on my way back to NY now. I’m leaving again on Friday so I still don’t think I’ll have time to see you unfortunately. I’ll try to call though.”
Referring to the emails, Melania Trump said: “My polite response to her email is nothing more than a trivial remark.”
Readers should note that Melania and Donald Trump have previously been photographed with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, but she said she met her husband independently two years before meeting Epstein.
What did Melania Trump say?
In a surprise statement Thursday evening, April 9, Melania Trump denied that she knew of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse or that she herself was a victim of the convicted sex offender.
“The lies linking me to the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein must end today,” she said, adding: “The individuals who lie about me lack ethical standards, humility and respect.”
She said: “I am not Epstein’s victim. Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump.” Melania went on to add that “false images and statements about Epstein and I” have been circulating on social media “for years. Be careful what you believe: these images and stories are completely false.”
“I never knew about Epstein’s abuse of his victims. I was never involved in any way. I was not a participant. I was never on Epstein’s plane and I never visited his private island.”
“I have never been legally charged or convicted of a crime related to Epstein’s sex trafficking, child abuse and other reprehensible conduct,” Melania Trump said.
Epstein died in federal custody in 2019 while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking in sex goods involving minors, but the scandal has repeatedly overshadowed Trump’s second presidency.
