The price of international women from courage was founded in 2007 by the then Minister of State Condolezza rice to recognize women who have shown exceptional courage, strength and leadership in defending peace, justice, human rights and strengthening the position of women and girls.
This year’s honors included courageous women from different corners of the world, such as Burkina Faso, Israel, Papua New Guinea, Romania, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Yemen and the Philippines.

Among the award was Georgiana Pasca of Romania, who was honored for her tireless work defending institutionalized children and adults with psychosocial and intellectual disabilities. For more than 25 years, Pasca has been working on the deinstitution of individuals held in harsh conditions.
“Georgiana is a guard dog that prevents the dignity of the Romanians whose voices cannot be heard,” Trump said. “He does not fearfully enter the facility intended as the Center for Rescue of People with Disabilities who are unknowingly captured.”
Trump continued and revealed the shocking conditions that Pasca often reveals in these institutions: “Usually unannounced and unimaginable: helpless adults and children tied, soothing, starving and die in extreme cases.”
