
US First Lady Melania Trump made a brief appearance on the opening day of her Fostering the Future Together global coalition summit, delivering remarks within minutes before leaving.
The 55-year-old first lady spoke at the start of the two-day event on Tuesday, March 24, held at the United States Department of State in Washington, DC. The summit has been described as “unprecedented” and brings together global leaders, their spouses and representatives of “28 best-in-class technology entities”.
According to a People report, Melania arrived at 10:01 a.m., addressed attendees and left at 10:08 a.m. shortly after finishing her speech.
Melania Trump hosts world counterparts
She spoke to delegates from 38 countries, including Sara Netanyahu, wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Olena Zelenska, wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Other nations represented included Costa Rica, Poland, Romania, Belize, Slovenia and Lithuania.
“It’s wonderful to welcome such an impressive delegation of world leaders, first spouses and best-in-class technology companies — all with the common goal of empowering our next generation’s advancement in technology and education,” Melania, wife of Donald Trump, said in her remarks.

She called on participating nations to work together to support children around the world, saying the coalition aims to “empower children by providing better access to technology and education.”
She called for concrete action, urging leaders to “commit to holding a regional meeting, conducting a research study, promoting new partnerships and working with another member country in your region of the world.”

“I wish everyone the best of luck during the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit. There is a lot to accomplish in this two-day period, and this is just the beginning,” she said, ending her speech before leaving the event.
Melania delivered her address in front of a sign displaying the name of the summit along with her “Be the Best” initiative.
The summit was attended by major technology firms, including Microsoft, Google and OpenAI.
While her appearance on the first day was brief, she is expected to take a more active role on Wednesday, March 25, when the event continues at the White House. A spokeswoman confirmed to People that she will be “hosting the entire White House roundtable” tomorrow.

Melania Trump first introduced the Fostering the Future Together initiative during a session of the United Nations General Assembly last fall.
She said in February that she remains focused on shaping her legacy and how she wants her second term as first lady to be remembered.
