The Minister of Water Resources Nimmala Naida announced on Monday that the Central Water Commission (CWC) approved the subcontracting agreement provided to the German Bauer Bauer Group by Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (Meil) for the construction of the new gateway Polavaram Eluru.
The membrane wall is built after it collapsed during the Godavari flood in 2021, as recommended by experts and CWS.
Rama Naida introduced a press conference on Monday; “The Meil Group agreed to build a new wall of diaphragm with prices of 2022-23. Later, it entrusted the work to the Bauer group only after CWC approved the draft contracts.”
Delay
It responds to concerns about the concerns of the YSRC (YSRCP) to subcontracting for the membrane wall component, Mr. Rama Naida said:

LMC works
“We have committed ourselves to finish LMC works until December 2027 to provide Godavari water to Visakhapatnam for Industrial needs and North Andhra region. LMC’s work worth 1,200 crore is in full swing,” said Rama Naida.
In the Polavram Project Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R), Mr. Rama Naida announced that in the first phase the action plan for the completion of 38,000 houses in the R&R colonies will be prepared.
