A special meeting of Syndicate of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University was convened on Wednesday to pass the annual budget, was adjourned due to lack of quorum.
Government candidates, including higher bureaucrats, delayed the meeting and pushed the university further into the administrative and financial crisis.
Only four members of the Syndicate, see, the Czřídlál, the registrar, the dean (academic) and the Dean (research) appeared at a meeting that required a minimum quorum of five participants.
The meeting was attended by the representative of Chancellor K. Sivaprasad recently moved the Krala High Court to ensure that the government candidates, including secretaries of the financial and university departments and the technical education director, participated. The Court ordered the government to file countermeasures and publish a case for another hearing of 19 August.
Last month’s delay delay disrupted salaries and two -month pensions. In addition, the university owed large amounts to different service providers, including almost 86 ₹ Lakh Celtron.
