Special meetings of the Governor Council (BOG) APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University convened by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Alelekar, who also serves as Chancellor of the University, was adjourned on Thursday due to lack of quorum.
The meeting was attended by only 10 members, which is far from the required one third of participation in the valid meeting of the 60-member statutory body.
Currently, BOG has 31 members, while holding another six who have been appointed members of the Syndicate on the basis of the Regulation remains in the dispute. Several other positions remained unoccupied for a considerable time.
On Thursday, he did not participate in any of the civil servants or members of the legislative assembly (MLA), including one of the United Democratic Front (UDF).
Among those who attended the meeting included Chancellor, Vice -Rector (compulsory) K. Sivaprasad, Dean (Academic), Dean (Research) (built -in), registrar, Kerala State Higher Education Council Krishna; and director of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (Iist) Thiruvananthapuram, Dipankar Banerjee.
For the Varsity budget
According to sources, Mr. Alekar expressed displeasure due to lack of participation in a meeting that was invited to introduce the university budget for fiscal 2025-26. He also warned that such disturbances could affect the credibility of the university in the long run. The governor also learned to seek a message from the vice -chairman of the absent.
While the possession of prof. Sivaprasada will be set to expire on May 27, the university has to overpay the bog session.
Three Syndicat meetings were previously founded under similar circumstances, which was forced by the vice -chairman to use his powers to approve the budget for presentation at the BOG meeting.
The meeting was held under the close police security. While the Indian Federation of Students (SFI) organized a demonstration at the university office that was looking for resignation for the vice -chairman, various left -wing left left left left agreements demanded postponing the peat bogs and marked various alleged illegality.
