Minister for Water Sources Duraimurugan organized an audit meeting with the main engineers of the department of various regions on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Mr. Duraimurugan reviewed projects carried out in all regions, including work on the flood and preparation for the northeast monsoon. Of the 1,782 works announced so far, 1,007 were completed and 775 took place, the official press release said.
He also ordered officials to speed up 15 projects announced by the main minister at the price of 595.18 GBP Crore and 254 other works sanctioned for 2025-26 at the price of 1,321.52 crore.
The Minister also ordered officials to speed up the ongoing 12 works to alleviate the flood sanctioned in the districts of Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tirvallur and Chengalpath at the price of 338 Crore and completed them in front of the monzun. Higher officials of the department participated.
