
US President Donald Trump explained on Friday that he had not canceled a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping after his recent remarks that “no reason to meet XI” caused speculation about the upcoming meeting of two leaders.
In an interview with reporters, Trump said he had not officially canceled the meeting with XI, but expressed his shock from the new Chinese export restrictions requiring export licenses for rare countries.

Trump responded to China’s restrictions and said he had previously seen that there was no need to meet Xi Jinping after Beijing took “very hostile” steps.
“It was a real surprise, not only for me, but for all the leaders of the free world. I was supposed to meet President XI in two weeks in Apec, South Korea, but now there is no reason,” he said.

Trump also warned that a rare country against the last move of China.
