A high -level meeting, chaired on Friday by the Minister of Forest and wild animals by Ak Sasendran, emphasized the commitment of the Thrissur Paarram festival without failure. The meeting held in the collector has joined the key parties to discuss measures and security measures before PACAM.
Mr. Sasendran said that steps would be taken to ensure a smooth and trouble -free experience for the public. Referring to recent incidents of abuse of elephants and animals, which became violent in the temple, emphasized the need to create safe and without fear for lovers of PORAMRAM. The Minister added that the official directives will only be issued with knowledge and approval of the district collector, which will ensure transparency and consensus.
He urged the cooperation of all parties involved – including the organizational committee of PORAMRAM and the owners of the elephants – to maintain high safety standards. The main guardian of wild animals had the task of overseeing everyday operation, while the regional CCF Ernakulam is necessary to submit daily progress reports.
Elephant shows
The Minister of Income K. Rajan, who joined the online meeting, called for a compassionate access of the forest department regarding elephants shows. He acknowledged concerns about elephants about changing the rules and stressed that sharing Mahout details with the police would not be a reason for concern.
Vijayan Forest Conservator has submitted detailed elephant management instructions and it was announced that the Fast Reaction (RRT) team would be an active team during the festival.
The district collector Arjun Pandian said at the meeting that the preparations were in full swing and determined another district judge as a contact point for all the needs related to the festival. Council Cochin Devaswom said all Poomams components were instructed to strictly follow the festival schedule.
Paradekkavu and Thiruvambady Devaswoms asked to extend the time of the Inspection of the elephant. The Minister ordered the district monitoring committee to look at it and consider the deployment of other units if necessary.
