Jason Knauf, former head of assistant to Prince William and Prince Harry and their wife, was appointed the new Earthshot Prize, the ambitious environmental initiative of Prince William. The announcement came on April 17, when Knauf immediately joined the role and followed by Hannah Jones, who will leave the organization’s management after four years this summer.
Prince William appreciated Jones’s successes and expressed his eagerness to cooperate with Knauf in leading the price in the next stage of growth and impact.
Knauf’s appointment comes with a remarkable background because he was a royal assistant, who submitted a formal complaint in 2018, which during her time as Duchess of Sussex was based on bullying Meghan Markle – claiming that she denied strongly.
The controversy surrounding the complaint led to the internal investigation of the Buckingham Palace and changes in employees’ politicians, although the details were not publicly published.
Yet Knauf maintained a close working relationship with Prince William, who served as a minister of communication for both royal couples before their offices separated. Later he became CEO of the Royal Foundation, supervising the charity work William and Kate, and continued his involvement in the Earthshot Award as an administrator before this new appointment.
