On May 24, last year, the Magistrial Court noted that Mrs. Patkar’s statements refer to Mr. Saxen as a “coward” and claimed that its involvement in Hawala transactions was not only defamed, but also created a negative perception of it.
The accusation that the complainant was a “mortgage” of people from Gujarat and their sources on foreign interests was a direct attack on its integrity and public service, she said.
The arguments of the conviction were completed on 30 May, after which the sentence of the quantum was reserved on June 7.
