Congress on Sunday (June 15, 2025) claimed that more than 1,500 Indian students were in a state of uncertainty in Iran and asked the Ministry of Outside to exceed passive advice to immediately create a coordinated evacuation mechanism.
The Congress claims came after the Indians were in Iran on Sunday (June 15, 2025) not to panic, not proving proper caution and maintaining contact with India Embassy in Tehran through their social media accounts with regard to the current situation in the country after the start of Israel.
The head of the media and the publicity of the Congress Pawan Khera claimed that while Indian students in Iran were calling for help, the government remains largely unreacted, even if the rain missiles from the sky.
“With suspended flights, airspace over Tehran closed, and disturbed access to the Internet is more than 1,500 Indian students left in a state of precarrity and uncertainty – without information about evacuation or safe zones,” Khera said in post X.
The Indian Embassy issued general counseling that urged students to “remain vigilant, avoid all unnecessary movements, follow the accounts of social media embassy and monitor security protocols recommended by local authorities,” he said.
“Meanwhile, students remain imprisoned in anxiety because the Indian embassy in Iran still does not respond:
He claimed that this was not the first time that Indian citizens remained for help during foreign crises. “Whether it was Sudan, Ukraine or now Iran, Modi’s government changed evacuation on propaganda opportunities – she entered late, spoke too little and did too little, too slow,” Mr. Khera said.
“MEA has to move over passive advice and immediately create a coordinated evacuation mechanism-dull teams for reaction to emergency situations, real-time communication channels, and logistics support-a safe output window,” he said.
In the advice of the Indian Embassy in Iran, all Indian nationals and Indian people asked to remain vigilant, avoided all unnecessary movements, watched social media accounts, and monitored security protocols recommended by local authorities.
The Embassy provided the Google form on its X account and asked Indian citizens to fill it in to provide their data. “Do not forget that it is important not to panic, not to bear proper caution and maintain contact with India’s embassy in Tehran,” he said.
He also provided a link to the telegram and asked Indian citizens to join him to get the situation updates from the mission.
“Kindly realize that this legacy of the telegram is only for Indian nationals who are currently in Iran,” the embassy said to X. She also provided emergency contact details.
On Sunday (June 15, 2025), Congress clearly condemned the recent “bomb attacks and targeted assassinations” on Iranian soil and said that this attack on Iranian sovereignty and interference with its rights only deepens the instability and sinned the seeds of another conflict.
The opposition party claimed that India had to speak clearly, act responsibly and use each available diplomatic channel to abuse voltage and support the return to dialogue.
Israel launched Rising Lion on Friday to hit the Iranian nuclear, rocket and military complex. The strikes left key military commanders and nuclear scientists dead. Iran retaliation by launching waves of drones and ballistic missiles in Israel.
