Commissioner City City Corporation (MCC) Shaikh Tanveer Asif performed a point inspection of three important monuments of the inheritance on Thursday – on Thursday in the city.
The inspection was made on the state of the ongoing and completed protection effort and plan further steps to maintain the historical legacy of the city.
The Commissioner was accompanied by leading experts in MCC protection and experts in the protection of inheritance, including the NS Rangaraju of Intach, Manjula, Deputy Director of Archeology, Museums and Heritage and others.
The team for the first time visited the iconic silver tower of the Clock Tower near the town hall, which is a symbol of the architectural heritage from the colonial era of Mysuru.
The State Archaeology Department took over for nature conservation at the price of 38 GBP Lakh and there were problems related to structural stability. Rangaraju said that there were concerns before the renewal work that the structure of the inheritance could collapse as the cracks had evolved. However, they have participated in since then. There were also problems related to rodents who gnawed in the foundation, and since then it has been secured and reinforced, he added.
Rangaraju pointed out that several decorative elements of the tower with hours, especially above, there was no need to restore, and the Commissioner said it should be taken first.
The town hall also applied to several civic works, and the MCC technical section got forward to call on offers to accept the works.
Rangaraju said that one of the objectives of the inspection was to verify that the renewal work was completed according to the preservation standard. He said there were also problems related to the grounding tower tower, and it seemed to have been taken as an additional idea.
Near the clock tower was a zero milestone, from where the distance from Mysurus to other cities was measured. During the expansion of the road, however, it was postponed aside, said prof. Rangaraju and Commissioner MCC ordered officials to find out the original stone stoves. In the circle of KR, a busy traffic junction and historical monuments, the Commissioner was familiar with the smaller works that need to be attended and called for the design of the engineering division.
Rangaraju said that Mysuru was endowed with more than 130 announced inheritance structures that are not only civic structures, but permanent monuments that are deeply associated with the history of Mysur. He welcomed the inspection of the sites carried out by the authorities and called for more active MCC measures to support the protection of the inheritance.
