
Minister for Large and Medium Industries MB Patil on Wednesday visited Kaynes Technologies and Cyient DLM at the Hebbal Industrial Area here and urged both the companies to expand their investments in Karnataka. He ensured speedy facilitation of land and infrastructure.
The minister said Kaynes Technologies, which manufactures electronic products, was looking for 20 acres of land to expand its Chamarajanagar unit. Land adjacent to its existing facility, which is currently classified as non-agricultural, will soon be allotted to the company, he added.
Mr. Patil said Kaynes Technologies, which has operations in seven states, should strengthen its footprint in the state. “By next year, Kaynes will invest around ₹1,500 crore in Chamarajanagar and will also build a hostel for 3,000 employees,” he said.
The minister also urged the Mysuru-based company to set up a PCB manufacturing unit at Mulawad Industrial Area in Vijayapur and ensure that the site has adequate electricity and water supply. He also suggested Kaynes to consider setting up another unit at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) where industrial land is available.
Kaynes Technologies Executive Vice President Ramesh R. Kannan, Chairperson Savitha Ramesh and Director Jayaram were present.
Later, Mr. Patil visited Cyient DLM, another Mysuru-based electronics company, where senior officials briefed him on the workings of the firm.
The Minister was accompanied by Principal Secretary, Department of Industries S. Selvakumar, Commissioner of Industries Gunjan Krishna, Director General of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board M. Mahesh, Chief Financial Officer Cyient R. Subramanian and other officials.
