Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Monday (January 26, 2026) greeted people on the occasion of Republic Day and reiterated her demand for Bharat Ratna for BSP founder Kanshi Ram.
“Our heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all those who have been awarded the Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri and the highest gallantry award for their outstanding service in various fields on Republic Day and their families. However, it would be appropriate if the founder of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Shri Kanshi Ram Ji, who dedicated his entire life to the struggle of the poor, downtrodden and neglected people.” The ‘Bahujan Samaj’ will stand on its own feet and give them a life of self-respect and self-respect, be honored with the Bharat Ratna without further delay as per the wishes of its millions of followers across the country, which the BSP has been constantly demanding,” the BSP chief wrote on X.
She also emphasized the need to measure progress against constitutional promises. “Congratulations and best wishes to all compatriots and all Indian citizens living around the world and their families on today’s 77th Republic Day. While we are proud of our excellent Constitution today, it has special meaning only when we put aside the lofty claims and enticing promises of the Government, an honest assessment is made whether the Central and State Governments are merely delusional or whether, in accordance with the Constitution, we all have the real intention of improving the standard of living of the people much needed with the required development in the field of political, social and economic democracy, only then can the way be paved for liberation from the pressing problems of the country,” said the BSP leader.
