
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday received the prestigious medal “Mithra Vibhushan” from the Sri Lankan government.
The prize was awarded the PM Modim “in honor of his exceptional efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and promotion of the shared cultural and spiritual heritage of both nations,” said PTI.
PM Modi’s notes: “Pride of pride”
After receiving the PM Modi price, he said, “Being honored in Sri Mithra Vibhushan is a great pride for me.”
“This tribute is not only mine, but belongs to 140 Indian people crore. It is a tribute to historical and deep friendship between people of India and Sri Lanka. I express my sincere gratitude to the government of Sri Lanka, President Disanayake and the people of this nation,” PM said.
The Prime Minister added: “… This is my fourth visit to Sri Lanka. My previous visit in 2019 came in a very sensitive time. I even had the belief that Sri Lanka was rising and rising stronger.”
