Chief Coach Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Stephen Fleming acknowledged that while Matheesha Pathiran has proven some improvement, in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL) has not fully fulfilled.
After the impressive season 2024 – where in just six games he claimed 13 goals – a 22 -year -old man tried to find a form in the current campaign.
So far, in IPL 2025, Pathirana has taken 12 goals in 11 games, but its economic rate of 10.17 is the highest of all CSK pitchs who played more than 10 matches. Fleming was honest in his evaluation and said that Pathirana did not lead to the level in which the team hoped.
“Yeah, he didn’t have what we want. We have high expectations of him, so we kept it, but he’s returning to some form. He was really out of shape when we had it in South Africa.
On Tuesday, Matheesha Pathirana lasted another hard trip, returning characters 2.1 overs, 22 runs and no goals because Super Kings suffered another defeat – This time six goals to Rajasthan Royals (RR) At the stadium Arnu Jaitley. Chief coach Stephen Fleming stressed that Pathiran needs to increase his performance and notes that contradictory doughs have begun to look for ways to face their bowling.
“But I think it’s just at the intersection where Batsmen play it better. They saw him more, so now they just have to throw what he has to do to be as effective as what was for the first part of his career. It’s a unique set of skills, but it was a bit gone,” Vlivý added.
Super Kings will play their last league game 25. May at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
