At least one person died and seven others were injured after a massive fire broke out at an electronics showroom in Hyderabad on Tuesday, November 25. The fire broke out inside the showroom late Monday night and quickly spread across the two-story building, triggering an explosion. The impact of the blast also caused a CNG-equipped car parked outside the shop to burst into flames, police said.
The injured also include the owner of an electronics shop who suffered burns, a police official at Moghalpur police station said.
The injured were taken to different hospitals. Videos showed huge smoke billowing from the building and firefighters struggling to put out the blaze.

Based on initial findings, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) Kiran Khare Prabhakar told reporters that the fire was probably caused by a short circuit in the electronics showroom around 10 pm on Monday.
According to him, however, the exact cause of the fire and subsequent explosion is being investigated.
A neighboring shopkeeper said they heard an explosion as the fire started to spread around the building. Further investigation is underway.
