
Sagar (MP), 26 July (PTI) Four family members, including a 45 -year -old man and his two adolescents, allegedly committed suicide by consuming Sulfas tablet in the Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh, the police said.
The deceased were identified as Manohar Lodhi, his daughter Shivani (18) and the son of Ankit (16) and their grandmother Phulrani Lodhi (70), said the journalist Khurai.
The incident occurred in the village of Jar, about 12 km from the headquarters of the Sagar district. Phulrans and Ankit died on the spot while Shivani exhaled her last during treatment in the hospital. Manohar Lodhi was transferred to the Sagar district hospital, but died on the way, said the policeman.
Dangi said the motif of a suicide pact is subject to investigation.
He said that Manohar Lodhi’s wife went to her mother house a few days ago.
Nandram Singh Lodhi said he heard his brother Manohara and vomited down around 3 hours.
After Nandram pointed out his neighbor, he summoned an ambulance. At the time the ambulance arrived, however, Nandram’s mother and nephew died.
Varsha Kesharwani in Khurai Civil Hospital said that four individuals consumed sulfas tablets. They were brought to the hospital in hours.
“Two of them were brought dead,” she added.
“When the girl and her father were in serious condition, they were transferred to the Sagar District Hospital. The girl died before she could have been shifted, while her father exhaled her last during transit in an ambulance,” she added.
