A large number of devotees attended the mass rendition of Hanuman Chalisa held at the Maharaja’s college here on Saturday.

The event was organized by the Avadhoota Datta Peetham for which a massive pandal was erected to accommodate the devotees participating in the day-long programme. The chanting was led by Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji. The junior seer of the ashram was also present.

Participants started arriving early in the morning as the organizers expected a large turnout. Seats were prepared for the devotees and prasadam was distributed to the participants during the event.

Police personnel were deployed to maintain security while traffic police managed congestion around the venue as large crowds gathered.

Several political leaders including MLAs TS Srivatsa, GT Deve Gowda and K. Harish Gowda along with former MLAs L. Nagendra and SA Ramdas attended the programme.
