Australia head coach Andrew McDonald advocated Marnus Labuschagne after his bad performance in the final of the World Championship against South Africa. Labuschagne scored 17 and 22 in the match at Lorda’s, because the move to use it as an opener failed.
Thirty -year How his bad form with the netop continued in the longest format of the game. McDonald, however, said it was about finding a place for Labuschagne in the team to get him back to what was at best.
As age quoted, McDonald said that Labuschagne is still a big part of the future of the team. Aussie coach said they were convinced that he would regain his form.
“It is a large part of the future of the team,” McDonald said about Labuschagne. “Anyone who average 46 in a test cricket at this age is important. We have older players who are closer to the end than the beginning, we have younger players, and you definitely want people who have 60 odd test matches.”
“It is really important at that age. If it can get a game in the next five years, it can support this tab order. At the moment, returns would be disappointed. He missed a big score.”
“He threatened to MCG, got a few 70 years. And if it were a few hundred, then the conversation also changed. We are convinced that he can return to the best, so we still choose him.
“We’re not a perfect team”
McDonald said that Australia is not a perfect team, and they could not conjure up a way to win the World Cup finals.
“We are not a perfect team and we were not on our way – we found ways to win, and this time we couldn’t conjure up,” McDonald said.
Australia will now head to West Indies for the test series.
