Home Minister Anitha has expressed deep shock over the horrific road accident that took place at Rayavaram near Markapuram district on Thursday (March 26, 2026) morning. She expressed her deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.
As soon as the minister came to know about the accident, she left Vijayawada and reached the accident site. She spoke to the District Collector and Superintendent of Police and asked for details. She suggested taking strict security measures to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
Along with Transport, Youth and Sports Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Ms. Anitha visited the injured victims at the Government Hospital in Markapuram. They asked the doctors about the health condition of the victims. They assured that the government would stand by them.

“Deeply saddened by the fact that many people were burnt alive in this accident. It is an extremely unfortunate incident,” BC Janardhan Reddy, Minister for Roads and Buildings (R&B), said and directed the district authorities to intensify efforts to help the victims on the spot.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister Ponguru Narayana spoke to district officials who informed him that residents of SPSR Nellore district were involved in the accident. He ordered better medical treatment for the wounded.
Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has directed the district authorities to thoroughly investigate the causes of the accident and submit a report. He suggested strict security measures should be taken so that similar incidents do not recur.
Power Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar described the loss of passenger life in the accident as extremely heartbreaking. Immediately after the incident, he spoke to the concerned officials and local MLA Kandula Narayana Reddy over phone to review the situation.
He directed the authorities to ensure that the injured are taken to hospitals without delay and given the best possible medical care. He expressed his deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured in the tragic incident.
Minister of Social Welfare Dr. Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy said, “The fact that 13 passengers in the bus were burnt alive has deeply shaken my mind. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
