US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday (October 9) scored the involvement of President Donald Trump with Muslim and Arab UN leaders as a decisive factor in the gauge agreement.
Rubio said, “It really turned about a month ago, less than a few weeks ago, when we were at the UN, and convened a historical meeting, not only about Arab countries, but about Muslim majority countries around the world, including Indonesia and Pakistan, and created this coalition behind this plan.”
Last month, Trump met the leaders of eight Arab or mostly Muslim nations on the UN General Assembly to discuss the strategy for the end of the conflict of Israel and planning the post -war reconstruction in Gaza.
A White House’s discussion with Netanyahu
After meetings of the UN, Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House to discuss the peace plan. According to Rubius, both leaders agreed on Trump’s 20 -point proposal to end the war.
Rubio explained: “The president had several extraordinary telephone calls and meetings that required a high degree of intensity and determination, and did it. One day the whole story will be told.”
Negotiations through the Middle Eastern Middle East
Rubio also emphasized the role of intermediaries in Qatar and Egypt in bringing Hamas aboard. Trump said, at the same time put pressure on Netanyah and gathered Arab and Muslim nations to support the ceasefire.
“Frankly, I don’t know about any US president in a modern era that could allow it,” Rubio said.
The human story behind the agreement
Rubio stressed that the ceasefire was not only political, but also deeply humanitarian.
“I think it’s important to understand that yesterday what happened was a really human story,” he said. “None of this would be possible without joining the United States.
Rubi’s remarks are underlined by the approach of Trump’s administration to mix diplomacy, direct negotiations and construction of a high -level coalition to ensure what US officials describe as a historical breakthrough in Israel’s conflict.
