Looking for an inspiring loser or glass slipper lying in San Antonio? This year’s Final Four version is not for you.
The NCAA tournament, in which large schools from large conferences took a record number of seats in the first week, is appropriately recorded, then all for Sweet 16, last week will bring a collection of all four teams that have been deployed No. 1 on the largest sport scene to play for the title.
When Florida meets Auburn in All-Southeastern Conference Clash and Duke faces Houston at a meeting between the Atlantic and Big 12 coast, it will only mean for the second time in 1979 that all four No. 1 have reached the last weekend.
The last time it happened in 2008 one of the teams of Memphis, who came from the US conference.
This time around, there are no middle and small commanders. Only the best teams from the best conferences – except Big One, which will not have the team since 2000 – who also have the best nation players.
Here is the view of the best player in each team (for Auburn, Duke and Florida, they are AP All-Americanans), along with others who could have an impact in San Antonio as soon as the games start on Saturday.
John Broome and want Pettiford, Auburn
Broome hardly hit the elbow in the second half of the victory of Tigers 70-64 over the Michigan state. He left the trial, but then returned and said that the team’s doctors said there was nothing wrong. It average 18 points and almost 11 rebounds and this week had 20-10 games in both victories. Obviously, his health will be a storyline.
If the NBA scouts only look at the backup guard Pettiford, where he average 17.2 points and triggered Auburn on a huge run in Sweet 16 victories against Michigan, they would have chosen it in the first round. If they look at its total part of the work, they could still say that they still need a job. Either way, he could be a creator of differences in two games.
Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach, Duke
Are the times-see 30-point, the Sedmin Clinic of Skills against the Balt-When Flagg just looks as if he’s playing with everyone. At other times, they are at other times – see Saturday’s victory over Alabama – when you look. Which is more than enough, given that it surrounds all talents.
Maluach is 7 stop-2 and has a steady range of 9-8. If an opponent of the overflow, they can expect a lob for Dunk-OOP. During Sweet 16 Weekend shot 12 to 15 and almost all shots were from 4 feet or closer.
Walter Clayton Jr. and Will Richard, Florida
Clayton made a bindings and go-aead 3s in Florida’s wild return against Texas Tech. He ended up with 30 points and his coach, Todd Golden, said: “There is no other player in America you should have just now than Walter Clayton with the ball in the hands of a big moment.”
During one section of two games in February, Richard had two points in one competition and 21 others. During another he scored zero, then 30. Fill in the gaps, but could be a big factor for Gators in both directions.
Joseph Tugler and LJ Cryer, Houston
For a team with the best defense of the nation, a player with an average of 5.5 points, could be the most valuable for Cougars. Tugler is on the All-Defense list of everyone, and for Houston to have any chance to stop Flagg, he will have to think of ways to use Tugler.
Cryer is Houston’s leading shooter at 15.2 points of play. If Cougars ends up like national champions, it will have to be because he played the two best games of his life.
