Mappilappattu singer Nisar Wayanad passed away in Dubai on Saturday (September 5, 2026) evening. He was 44.

According to reports, Nisar was undergoing treatment for fever at a private hospital in Dubai. Nisar, a native of Kambalakkad in Wayanad, had gone to Dubai for a music event last month and was hospitalized after falling ill. He was scheduled to perform in Saudi Arabia and Dubai in the coming days.

Nisar leaves behind a wife and two children.
