
Two men in their fifties were killed by Maoists at separate places in the interiors of the Chhattisgarh district in Bijapor during the intervening Sunday night (July 20, 2025) and Monday (July 21), the police said.
With this, the total number of civilians allegedly killed by Maoists in the Bastar region will affect this year 27.
In the last incident with twins, the police officer said that Kawasi Yoga (55), the inhabitants of the village of Chhutwai, and the Manglu course, 50, from Bada Tarrem, were murdered in their relevant areas. Both of these villages fall under the jurisdiction of the Tarrem police station.
Police staff threw himself into areas in the morning, the police statement said.
The incidents come almost a week after a similar incident in the Farsegarh area in Bijapore, where the Maoists killed two men who worked as Shiksha Doot (temporary guest teachers) in government schools after accusing them of negotiations as police informants.
