Belur Gopala Krishna, the Sagar Congress Party in the Shivamogg district, condemned alleged incidents to force students to remove the “sacred thread” while appearing for CET, and urged the state government to take measures against responsible officers.
On Tuesday, Krishna spoke to Prespersons in Sagar and said he was part of the ruling party, he would protest if the government did not work against those who were responsible for the incident. “The incident injured the feelings of Brahmin’s people. They protest protests.” Janivara “has religious importance. It will force students to remove the” sacred thread “, hurt sentiments,” he said.
The MLA also stated that the state government did not give officers instructions on the removal of the thread. “The government should take strict steps against them. Otherwise, I will have to protest against the government, even though it was part of the ruling party,” he added.
A student in Sagar complained to the local police that he was forced to remove the “sacred thread” before entering the 16th April.
