Students of the National University of Urdu University from Maulan Azad (Manuu) in Hyderabad gathered on Academic land on Tuesday to protest against the WAQF 2025 Amendment Act, which recently received the President’s approval of Murm. They described the legislation as “discriminatory” and “against Muslims”.
Shaikh Mudassir, PhD student and President Sio Manuu, condemned this act: “We reject the WAQF law, which is a state -sponsored attack on religious and charity institutions of the Muslim community.
According to students, protest, it was a collective effort of student groups such as AUSF, fraternal movement, students of Islamic organization (SIO) and girls’ Islamic organization (Gio).
Students carried banners that read “waqf assets are not for state seizures”, “India rejects the law on change WAQF”, “Stop Police Waqf” and “Hands Off Waqf”.
Farooq Qadri, vice -chairman, fraternal movement, claimed that the new legislation was against Article 26. He also claimed that the party of Bharatiya Janata indulges in “hypocritical narrative about Muslim welfare”.
Ayesha Anjum, a member of Gio, said that God is the owner of the qualities, and therefore the legislation is a direct attack of the government on religious freedom. “The so -called consultation process ignored millions of objections. This is not a reform; it is deprived. It’s a Waqf War and a Muslim existence.”
According to SQR Ilyas, a spokesman for the personal law of all India (Aimplb), the panel moved the Supreme Court to challenge legislation. The petition, as stated, objects to changes received by parliament, which call them arbitrary, discriminatory and outdated.
“The petition was solved by the main advocate of the Supreme Court, Mr. Shamshad, while the lawyer on the record of Talha Abdul Rahman represented the board. The petition was submitted on behalf of the Board of Directors by the Secretary -General of Maulan Fazlur Raheem Mujaddid.”
