
At least six people died and many of them were injured after the strike at Haridware’s Hilltop Mansa Devi, where hundreds of devotees gathered on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Sunday around 9 am. About 35 people were rushed to the hospital and six of them died, Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Prandra Singh times told PTI videos.
What led to Stampede?
Haridwar Senior Superintendant of Police Prandra Singh Dobal said that the rumors of electricity, where the stairs to the temple are starting to send people to panic, leading to Stampede.
“He broke out in the Mansa Devi temple in the morning, for rumors …” said the main minister Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami.
As a Sunday, a large crowd of devotees at a height of over 500 feet was gathered at the temple at Shvivalik Hills.
Videos from the place showed a massive rush of people, including children and women who got into the temple. Outside the hospital, they were worried about the family family for reports about their loved ones.
Ordered a magistrate probe
CM Pushkar Singh Dhami said the magistral probe was ordered. “We have ordered a magistral probe by the incident, and those who are responsible for the spread of rumors will face strict negotiations,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was deeply saddened by the loss of life in The Stampede.

Previously, in the Facebook post, Dhami said he had been struck by the incident and claimed that the situation was monitored.
“Very sad news was received on the way to the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar. SDR, local police and other rescue teams got into place and dealt with relief and rescue,” Dhami on Facebook said.
“In this respect, I am constantly in contact with the local administration and the situation is constantly monitored. I pray to Mat Rani for the safety of all devoted,” he added.
The temple, dedicated to the goddess Mansa Devi, is one of the five sacred places or Mr Tirthas of Haridware.
