Veteran Bollywood actors Govinda, Shakti Kapoor, Chunky Panday and BJP MP Manoj Tiwari have been named in the First Information Report (FIR), Bollywood Hungama reported, citing a complaint filed in a court in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
The case relates to an alleged investment scam involving Ghaziabad-based Maxizone Touch Private Limited.
According to the report, the FIR was registered on the orders of a local court in Jamshedpur after the investors approached the judiciary.
Investors claimed they were duped by a firm that promised high returns on investment.
The case was reportedly filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to cheating and criminal conspiracy.
What is it about? In detail…
A Bollywood Hungama report mentions a complaint from an investor who said he invested more ₹30 lakhs in Maxizone Touch Pvt Ltd, a company that secured monthly returns of up to 15 percent.
When interest and principal were not returned as promised, the investor went to court, prompting police action.
The court ordered that an FIR be lodged in connection with the matter.
The FIR names the four actors along with others, alleging that they were involved in promoting the company’s investment scheme and played a role in luring unsuspecting investors through referrals, Bollywood Hungama reported.
The complaint allegedly alleged that their influence helped the firm lure more people into the scheme.
Earlier, the directors of Maxizone Touch Pvt Ltd — Chander Bhushan Singh and his wife Priyanka Singh — were arrested in September 2025 by the Jamshedpur police as part of a wider investigation into the company’s operations.
Investigators discovered that the firm allegedly operated a fraudulent multi-level marketing (MLM) business and collected substantial unauthorized deposits from investors, the report said.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) also conducted searches related to alleged investment and cryptocurrency scams involving the company and said the Singh couple remained on the run for nearly three years before their arrest.
