The Government claims that the WAQF Amendment Act aims to streamline the management of the WAQF real estate (assets permanently donated by Muslims for religious or charity purposes) with the provisions of the protection of places of inheritance and the support of social well -being.
It also seeks to improve the management of affairs by increasing the transparency in the area of real estate management, streamlining coordination between WAQF councils and local authorities and the protection of the rights of stakeholders.
