
After arresting a member of the Meitei Arambai Tengol-As Canan-Proticorritional Branch (ACB) Guwahati’s Central Investigation Office (CBI), on Sunday, tension through the Manipur Valley Valley.
CBI said in a press release, as HT said, “Kanan was arrested on Sunday at Imphal Airport for his involvement in various criminal activities associated with the violence of manipur 2023. His family was informed of the arrest.”
The Prime Minister’s agency added that they are investigating cases related to manipures violence under the Supreme Indian Court Directive. “Given the prevailing situation and the order, the court was moved from these cases from manipure to Guwahati,” he said.

More adds, CBI said that Kanan was transported to Guwahati and will be made before the relevant court for the police.
Although police officials said that Canan was arrested on Saturday with four other members of Aambai Tengol, CBI only confirmed the arrest of Canan.
Violent protests:
Soon after the arrest of Kannana CBI, violent protests exploded in Imphal City, because the demonstrators blocked the main roads using burning tires, wooden boards and other debris.

To dispel crowds, the safety forces in the manipure fired tear gas shells, fake bombs and live wheels. In action, a 13 -year -old boy suffered serious foot injuries and was evacuated to a nearby hospital.
According to the details, at least 11 people were reported between Saturday evening until 17:30 Sunday. The condition deteriorates in the evening.

Based on the situation, the security forces were deployed in key points across Imphal, including the Imphal East palace composition, and the Keishampaat Bridge, Moirangkhom and Tiddim Road, which stretched on Imphal Airport in Imphal West.
No Internet:

10 -day nationwide shutdown:
On Saturday, which demanded unconditional release of arrested volunteers, the Arambai Tengol Group announced a 10 -day nationwide shutdown.
The Khurai Female Group also issued a strict warning and demanded that “all MLAs currently outside the state return to Imphal and create a new popular government until 18:00 on June 10”.

A group of women also stated that if the MLA did not return to the deadline, it will not be allowed to re -enter the state.
Meeting with the Governor:
When the situation in the state became tense, the delegation of more parties more than 25 legislators and deputy Rajya Sabha Leishemb Sanajaob met with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Sunday. They were looking for an urgent intervention of the governor.
Delegations – include the legislators from BJP, NPP and Congress – also asked the Governor to promote the unconditional release of the arrested Arambai Tengolo members.

The statement issued by Raj Bhavan in Imphal said: “Today the MLA group called on Governor Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhall, in Raj Bhavan, during which the Mla approved the Governor of the Contemporary Law and the Order and asked for his intervention to help find the solution.” The governor assured the delegation that “all the necessary steps to deal with concern and restore normal are taken,” he added.

BJP reaction:
While BJP MLA and spokesman L. Ibomcha stated that the head of the army Arambai Tengolo, marked as ASEM Kanan, was arrested in connection with the personal case.
He added that four more members were detained by the state police because they were present during Canan’s arrest and will soon be released.
“Governor assured the delegation that he was not against Arambai Tenggol, and acknowledged the role of the group to support administration during the recent flood crisis,” HT Ibomcha said.
Congress reaction:
The MLA Otram Surjakumar, who was also part of the delegation, said: “The arrest of the five members of Aambai Tengolo has plunged into chaos. The prohibition was imposed. The prohibition was imposed, the Internet services were suspended and the blockages appeared in several places.”

However, he stressed the need for transparency. “If the government plans to arrest someone, there must be public clarification. We must remain unified and focus on restoring peace in the state,” he said.
He also added that only one of the five detainees is currently associated with CBI investigation and the remaining four are undergoing preliminary checks in the background of the local police.
