
As part of the preparation for the 11th International Yoga Day, the Mandya district will prepare for the organization of a large yoga meeting at Pet Grounds 21 June. More than 6,000 people are expected to participate in the event.
Representative of the Commissioner Kumar, who chaired the preparatory meeting here on Monday, said that careful planning is required to ensure that the event is carried out in a systematic, disciplined and inclusive way.
He talked about the holistic benefits of yoga and said it not only increases physical health, but also improves concentration, especially among students.
This year’s event will be held under the global theme “One Earth, One Health”. In accordance with this, two new initiatives, green yoga and yoga Dhanush will be introduced. Within the green yoga, seedlings will be planted in cooperation with forest departments that will support environmental consciousness and personal wellness.
To ensure a wider range and participation, a yoga module was developed through the application of “Y-Break Yoga”, especially for prisoners, persons with disabilities, industrial staff and state road transport employees. A special yoga session is also planned for clothing workers in the Maddur industrial area.
The main meeting in Pet Grounds will take place from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and the participants are obliged to arrive by 6:00
Dr. Kumar said that five yoga instructors should be appointed to supervise the event. These instructors will carry out training for participants for about two days.
The police department will take security measures, while the health department will provide ambulances, first aid and organize a blood donation camp.
