Manchester United reportedly made Benjamin Sesko his primary goal for the attacker before the season 2025-26 and overtaken Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins on their narrower list.
According to Athletic report, United has already launched informal contact with RB Leipzig after the Slovenian striker best suits the profile they are looking for. SYSKO recently signed a new contract with Leipzig, which runs until 2029. However, there is an understanding that if the highest club comes with an offer of 80 to 90 million euros, the German side would be willing to leave it.
The Newcastle United is also allegedly carefully monitored by SESKO, especially with uncertainty around Alexander Isak, who allegedly informed the club that he wants to Explore its options in the transmission window.
Manchester United also showed interest in Ollie Watkins, but Aston Villa explained that England International is not for sale. Watkins remains a key part of the Unai Emery plans and Villa is determined to keep it.
If the United was done by Land Land, it would mean a deviation from their current transfer strategy under Ruben Amorim, who focused on Premier League experience. This summer, Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford brought already to strengthen their attack.
Interestingly, United watched Sesko in 2019, when he was still in RB Salzburg, but was not willing to meet three million euros at that time, given that he is too high. Since then, Sesko has evolved into one of the most promising young attackers in Europe.
After the catastrophic season 2024-25, where United ended up on the 15th place in the Premier League And he lost the final of the European League in Tottenham, Amorim is under pressure to turn things quickly. With the ongoing preparations before the season, the club will be interested in completing key signatures and ensure that the group is tactically prepared before the start of a new campaign.
The potential signature of the slide could be the main step in the reconstruction, signaling the intention to return to the top of English football.
