Welcome to United! – Manchester United (@Manutd) 5th July 2025
United seeks to reverse its wealth after years of underestimation in the post-Sir era Alex Ferguson. The appointment of Amorim is considered a new beginning, and the club hopes that his vision and tactical approach can finally lead them back to the title.
Leon’s arrival deals with a critical gap in the group. When Luke Shaw often pushed because of injury, United remained left at the left. Tyrell Malacia was borrowed by PSV to Eindhoven, while Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui were used as temporary solutions in the role.
In the amorim system, full backs are expected to be active contributors in the attack, with the ability to take over the defenders in one -on -one situation and to connect with the attackers in the last third. Leon’s attributes suggest that it might be suitable for this role.
The club is under pressure from the distorted campaign 2024–25, which saw them end up in the Premier League and Lose the European League finals at Tottenham Hotspur. Without the Champions League football, he hopes that the reduced load of accessories will allow them to regroup and concentrate on domestic competitions because they are trying to close the gap on Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.
Although several important managers, including Jos Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and Erik, have failed to restore the dominance of United, Amorim will hope that Leon’s signature is a step in the right direction when his reconstruction begins.
