Manchester City are reportedly planning to sign a midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window, with key players like Kevin De Bruyne and Mateo Kovacic rumored to be considering exits. Despite securing Nico Gonzalez from FC Porto during the winter transfer window and the anticipated return of Rodri Hernandez from injury, head coach Pep Guardiola is keen to add new talent to the squad.
One of Guardiola’s top targets is Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga. The 22-year-old French midfielder has faced challenges in establishing himself at the reigning European champions this season. Injuries have disrupted his progress, and even when fit, he has often been overlooked in favor of players like Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni, and Dani Ceballos under manager Carlo Ancelotti.
This situation could open the door for Manchester City, who are encouraged by Guardiola’s strong interest in bringing Camavinga to the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City Eyeing Summer Move for Eduardo Camavinga
Manchester City’s pursuit of Camavinga appears to have received a boost, with former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown revealing to Football Insider that the Real Madrid star is open to joining the Premier League champions this summer.
Additionally, Fichajes reports that Camavinga could be available for £70 million—a fee well within Manchester City’s financial reach. Given his talent, this price tag is likely to attract interest from other top clubs across Europe as well.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester City will formalize their interest with a bid, but with Camavinga’s role at Real Madrid currently diminished, this summer could present the ideal opportunity for a potential transfer.
