Working on the Manachira-Malaparamba road, which began in mid-June, proceeds quickly, with strengthening and balancing the acquired real estate. At the current pace, four -wees are expected to be completed before February 2026. Meanwhile, preparations for the construction of an overpass in Eranharm, the busiest intersection on the section.
The road of 5.32 kilometers, developed according to the Kozhikode City Road Improvement Project, is part of the proposed Manachira-Velimadukunnnnu road. The remaining section from Maliacramba to Vellimadukunn will be developed as part of the National Highway 766 from Kozhikode to Collegal. The path will be expanded to 24 meters to adapt to four -lane operation. Currently, two meters wide drains are designed on both sides of the road. These drains will also carry cable pipes.
In some parts of the soil obtained, the quality of the soil is poor. To solve this, the base is strengthened by lateral soil brought from other areas. The demolition of existing buildings, the felling of trees and the equalization of the Earth on the soil is almost complete.
The redesigned road will have a median with two meters wide with 8.5 meters of roads in both directions. Medium and road arms will be beautified by grass grass and flowering plants.
The acquisition of soil is completed across the section, except for a small land in the Eranipalam, which is in dispute. The proposed 30 meters wide overpass in Eranipalam will expand between the post office and the intersection of Chulliyod Road.
