Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly urged the club to secure the signing of Sporting Lisbon’s prolific striker Viktor Gyokeres this summer.
Amorim, who recently left Sporting to take charge at Manchester United, is already looking to bring in reinforcements from his former club. The Portuguese manager has faced a challenging start at Old Trafford, and it’s evident that his squad needs more firepower up front.
Marcus Rashford has been loaned out to Aston Villa, and Amorim is reportedly considering offloading Rasmus Hojlund due to his lack of impact. Gyokeres could be the ideal replacement, and Fichajes claims the Swedish international is one of United’s top targets for the upcoming transfer window.
Viktor Gyokeres could be a game-changer for Manchester United

Gyokeres has been in sensational form this season, contributing a remarkable 58 goals and assists across all competitions for both club and country. The 26-year-old striker would represent a significant upgrade over Hojlund if he can replicate this form in the Premier League.
However, there are questions about whether Gyokeres can maintain his world-class performances at the highest level. Prior to his breakout season with Sporting, he played for Coventry City in the Championship, meaning the Premier League would present a much tougher challenge.
Gyokeres has been in scintillating form for Sporting, scoring four goals in his last two games earlier this month. It’s no wonder Amorim is eager to reunite with his former player as he continues to shine on the pitch.
