A 43-year-old law graduate has gone viral in China after revealing his wife left him when he lost his high-paying job.
The man, identified as Qianqian, previously worked at a state-owned company and earned about 50,000 yuan ( ₹6.23 lakh) per month, according to 163.com. According to Qianqian, marriage left him empty in more ways than one.
The man sold his apartment to keep up with her expenses. Nevertheless, at the time of the divorce, he ended up with no joint property. In seven years, they got close only 7-8 times.
The man spent most of his income on his wife, whom he described as very beautiful. He lost his job five years ago for unknown reasons. Since then, he has been working as a delivery boy, earning less than 10,000 yuan ( ₹1.24 million) per month.
After his income dropped, his wife filed for divorce. Qianqian said she loves his money, not him. The woman did not work. She lived a luxurious lifestyle financed by Qianqian.
She often bought the same clothes in three colors. She once bought two designer bags costing over 15,000 yuan ( ₹1.87 million) each.
She also used expensive skin creams on her hands and feet. The woman took expensive supplements to stay slim and underwent several cosmetic procedures.
“She is the woman I loved the most. I used to think I would never forget her because I loved her so deeply,” Qianqian said.
“After some time of feeling the pain, one day I suddenly realized that she didn’t really love me, but my willingness to support her materialistic desire,” he added.
One married for looks, the other for money
Qianqian and his ex-wife first met online while playing games. He knew that many other men tried to impress her because of her attractive appearance.
“In the end, she chose me, not because she liked my personality or my looks, but because I was quite willing to give her money for anything she wanted to buy,” Qianqian said.
At the same time, Qianqian also liked her just for her looks.
“My goal at the time was to cast her. My dream was to marry her. I didn’t think much about whether she liked me or not,” he said.
Now he says he is comfortable with the silence. He feels lonely and yet free.
“I hate my ex-wife. What I lost during my last marriage is not money, but my precious youth,” Qianqian said.
