
A 45-year-old fishmonger was killed after the autorickshaw he was driving overturned when a wild boar suddenly ran across the road at Kathirur 3rd Mile on Monday (February 16).
The deceased was identified as N. Pradeepan of Naravoor near Kuthuparamba. He was returning home after buying fish from the Thalassery market.
According to residents, the accident occurred when a wild boar suddenly crossed the road, causing Pradeepan to lose control of the vehicle. The autorickshaw overturned and caused him serious injuries. Bystanders rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.
The incident has again raised concerns over the increasing movement of wild animals onto the roads in the region, especially during the early morning and late night hours. The police registered the case, further actions are underway.
