Police of the district crime branch arrested a 58 -year -old man on Wednesday for the alleged cheating of job seekers by a few lamps by promising government work. The arrested was identified as S. Baskar from Purasawalkam in Chennai.
According to the police, the complainant C. Nagaraj became acquainted with the accused through the mutual acquaintance. The defendant claimed that he had been very influence among government officials and offered to get a job in the revenue and Society of Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation.
The defendant has collected 5.5 GBP Lakh since the victim and several other people in Cuddalore, which promised them government jobs. After the complaint, the DCB was carried out by the police investigations and arrested Baskar. A case was registered.
