
A special court (Red Sanders cases) in Tirupati on Friday (April 24, 2026) sentenced the 29-year-old man to five years’ rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹3,000. The case dates back to 2018 and was registered at Rompicherla police station in Chittoor district.
LS Vijay alias Sudhakar, a resident of Chennai, was found guilty under the AP Forest (Amendment) Act, 2016. Police said he was caught on January 14, 2018 while transporting red sander logs from the Seshachalam hills.
