
Kasaragod of the additional district and session (II) condemned Ka Nawas (44) for 10 years of strict imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of 1 lakh for smuggling 52 kg Ganja in a specially modified jeep. In case of non -payment of the fine, Nawas will have to serve for another three months in prison.
The judgment was declared Judge K. Priy. The case concerns a seizure of 13 May 2013 around 20:00 in Chengala Bayvincha, where Nawas was caught to transport Ganja hidden in the hidden tata Sumo section.
The operation was then led by the Inspector of Kasaragod and now Kasaragod Subdivision DYSP CK Sunilkucar, along with his team, which confiscated smuggling and arrested the accused.
Other government prosecutor G. Chandramohan and advocate Chitrakala represented prosecution during the court proceedings. Meanwhile, two other charges in this case remain escape. Officials stated that Nawas is also charged in another similar case of narcotics currently in court.
