A 48-year-old man was found dead on a road in Kukatpally on Sunday, February 22, 2026, after allegedly collapsing and sustaining severe head injuries outside a gold shop.
The deceased was identified as Kommineni Narasimha Rao Chowdhury, a native of Tallada in Khammam district, who lived alone in Kukatpally. Following a distress call around noon, the Kukatpally police rushed to the spot near Sri Sairam Gold Shop and confirmed the identity of the deceased.
Preliminary investigation shows that he consumed alcohol and slept outside the shop late on Saturday night. He is believed to have woken up at around 8.30am on Sunday and sat on the roadside. He allegedly fell backwards while sitting and hit his head on the ground. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by his relatives.
